Everyone becomes a little nervous if they’re experiencing a burning sensation after urination. Going to the bathroom is a private moment and involves a private area, so many people don’t feel very comfortable about discussing this issue.

Not to mention the fear that it is a sexually transmitted disease since most people associate the discomfort as a common symptom. Actually, the truth is that there are five possible reasons why you may be experiencing the burning sensation after urinating and only two of them are due to an STD. Luckily, both of the transmitted diseases are treatable.

It’s a bit uncomfortable and even stings a little, but it’s not abnormal. However, there is a clear sign that something isn’t right. There is a chance that it could be Chlamydia or Trichomonas, but there are additional discharges and secretions that occur to indicate these sexually transmitted diseases. But, one of the most common reasons for the burning sensation after urinarion is a urinary tract infection (UTI).

As for men, the most common reason for enduring this discomfort is Prostatitis. This is when there is an inflammation in the prostate gland creating the burning sensation. There are also additional symptoms that occur with the burning sensation after urinating, so this won’t be the only apparent issue. But, this does require a trip to the doctor immediately and a view of your different options. If it is caught in the early stages, then there is a good possibility of it being treatable.

With the variation of problems that can occur when experiencing a burning sensation after urination, it’s not recommended to jump to conclusions and assume the worst. Make sure to visit and talk to your doctor and find out the root causes behind the problem to get the proper treatment. Don’t wait until it is too late. The last thing that you might want is for it to become unbearable.
