Burning Pee

by April Leave a Comment

What is burning pee? The burning sensation while peeing (or burning urination) is one of the very common problems that many women face today. Compared to men, women are more susceptible to this condition which is usually also accompanied by other symptoms such as frequent urges to urinate as well as blood in urine. Statistics alone have shown that there are more than eight million women who are visiting their doctor’s clinic every year for diagnosis and treatment for this condition.

Although there can be many reasons as to why the burning sensation occur while urinating, the most common of all is due to urinary tract infection (UTI in short). Caused by bacteria, the infection of the urinary system particularly the urethra and the urinary bladder result in the burning pain, and generally these painful symptoms happen only during the process of urination.

Now that’s a staggering 20% of the women population! Out of these 20% of the women, 15% of them had infection for more than 2 times a year.

For people who have not experienced a urinary tract infection before, the first experience can be a real frightening one. Here are some of the more common symptoms of a UTI, they include:

i. Painful or burning sensation while urinating

ii. Constant feeling of having to urinate.

iii. Only a small amount of urine is passed despite the urge to urinate is strong.

There are also some cases where the UTI sufferer does not exhibit any of the symptoms at all. Therefore, it would always be a good idea to take some precautions whenever you first feel the sign of burning pee.
