Frequent urination in women is one of the more common problems that could affect one’s lifestyle in many ways. Generally, frequent urination can a symptom of underlying health issues such as urinary tract infection, diabetes among others.

Although there are also some common cases where increased urination frequency is not a health problem such as when drinking too much, excessive intake of alcoholic beverage as well as drinking coffee or tea that is diuretic, it is very normal to have the urge to urinate rather frequently after that.

Typically, urinating for about 5 to 7 times a day is considered normal, but waking up more than once at night to urinate might be signs of health issues. In a healthy adult, a urinary bladder is able to accommodate up to 800ml of urine but the urge to urinate may kick in upon reaching half the capacity amount. Although there are also many other causes of frequent urination in women such as nerves injury, bladder cancer, intake of certain medicines and even the development of cystitis, frequent urination can be an embarrasing problem particularly when you are away from home where convenience is limited.

As such it would be best to reduce its symptoms by limiting your intake of diuretic beverages and alcohol. Drinks with caffeine should also be avoided in addition to cutting down your liquid intake. Also, avoid drinking too much water one or two hours before bedtime.
