While puffy eyes mostly occur in the morning, it can also be accompanied by watery eyes or itchiness at times and if that does happen, the condition would most probably be caused by allergies although genetic or heredity may also play a role. As this delicate region of the eye is packed with tiny blood vessels, rubbing your eyes with your hand is generally not recommended.

So, if you want to get rid of these puffy eyes symptoms, ideally it would be best to always lead a healthy lifestyle. Reduce your salt or sodium intake and drink plenty of water each day. At least 8 glasses of water per day is recommended.

Also, having quality sleep every night is essential. Sleep deprivation is another major cause for this eye problem that causes puffiness and baggy eyes to occur. Therefore it is advisable to sleep for at least 6 hours each night although 8 hours would be ideal.

In addition, the tannic acid found in tea also helps tightens the skin under the eyes. It is a natural chemical compound that shrinks and constricts body tissues. So here’s how you can get started. First, prepare a bowl of icy cold water. Then dip two bags of tea into the water for a couple of seconds and then apply one to each eye area. Simply leave them on for about 10 to 15 minutes.

You can also use chamomile tea, red raspberry leaf tea or any ordinary tea that you can find. They all work just as well. Once applied, you will instantly notice a very soothing feeling on your eyes. After 10 or 15 minutes has passed, remove the tea bags from your eyes and wash your face with cold water. Enjoy the refreshing feels while it lasts. Afterwards, you can also put on slices of cucumber on your eyes too if you like for better effect.
