Eye infection can be very painful and uncomfortable but luckily enough it can be easily treated with some simple all natural home remedies for eye infections. If you suspect your eye infection to be serious then I would strongly advise to check with an ophthalmologist instead before it gets worse.

Some of the symptoms of eye infection include flaking, itching, soreness puffy eyelids, sticky fluids form in the eye, burning as well as other discomfort of the eyes.

However, normal eye infections are not. Therefore, it is extremely important that you practice proper hygiene such as by washing your hands and not touching or rubbing your eyes. Keep your hands clean at all times and change your pillow case regularly until the infection goes away.

Here are some common home remedies for eye infections that can help ease the pain and get rid of the infection.

Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera is known for the many benefits it has. It has natural anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and antiseptic properties, and has been used for generations for its medicinal benefits. Extract the juice from an aloe vera plant and by using a cotton ball, gently apply some of the juice onto the affected eye for at least 3 times daily.

Milk and Turmeric: Turmeric is an ingredient known for its antiseptic properties and milk is good to soothe discomfort. Mix one teaspoon of turmeric powder with one tablespoon of milk. Strain the mixture using muslin cloth and apply to the eye.

Tea Bags: Place chamomile tea bags on your eye lids for quick relief of pain and discomfort.

Coriander as Eyewash: Boil the leaves of coriander plant. Allow it to cool and strain. Then use the liquid as an eye wash.

Rosewater: Place several drops of rosewater in a dropper; drop 1-2 drops in the eye. It will help to clear up the infections.

Yogurt and Honey: Mix one teaspoon yogurt with one teaspoon honey and apply to the infected eye. Honey is a great antiseptic and anti-infection substance which is great for clearing up the infections.

When experiencing an eye infection do not rub your eyes, or strain them. Always drink lots of natural juices and keep your hands and items such as towels, handkerchief and pillow case clean. Use the above home remedies for eye infections to help clear up the infection and have your eyes return to normal again soon.
