Are you having burning sensation in stomach? Although the burning sensation in stomach can be very painful and at times rather agonizing, it is not a very serious health condition. Also referred to as gastritis, the burning sensation is usually caused by various issues around the upper abdomen region such as the development of ulcers in the stomach, inflammation and also bacteria infection. One of the very common causes is the tearing of the protective lining of the stomach. This may be a result of a infection caused by a bacteria known as Helicobacter Pylori or H. Pylori which inflames the lining tissue of the stomach. Besides, excessive intake of alcohol can also cause burning sensations. Another typical culprit is the prolonged use of anti-inflammatory, pain killers as well as many other drugs that erodes this protective membrane of the stomach. The condition may also be accompanied by other symptoms such as swelling of the stomach, nausea, vomiting and even a loss of appetite.
